Why You Should Use Beef Tallow Over Vegetable Oil
by Owen LeMaster
Is beef tallow any better then the well known vegetable oil? Before we answer that question though, we must know why they switched to vegetable oil in the first place. Around the early 1990’s, food companies were persuaded to replace beef tallow with vegetable oil because it was cheaper and it supposedly made their food “healthier”. Beef tallow has been used for centuries and has significant healthy benefits. It is rich in vitamins D, E, A and K2, which support immune systems and bone health. It is also good for skin care. The rich meaty flavor tastes better and it has a high burning temperature. The only reason we have used tallow for so long is because they didn’t have enough technology to make vegetable oil in the first place. Vegetable oil isn’t even made of vegetables! It is highly processed seed oils which can add lots very unwanted fats which can cause inflammation. So considering all of this I do believe that Beef tallow is generally much better for you.
