About LCS News

“In 2022, current 7th graders at Legacy enjoyed making a newspaper for a book report class in English 7. They asked me if they could make a newspaper for Legacy. They were so genuinely interested in creating this that I decided to give them that opportunity. In the fall of 2023, LCS News was founded and produced their first video news segment and their first official paper. 

It is primarily student-led, teacher-guided. The students create, write, and produce all the content. They maintain the website and manage the budget. They pour their hearts and souls into everything they do for LCS News. And all students who are returning to LCS News mentor someone younger to eventually take over their role. LCS News is more than a class. In documenting these events, the fun challenges they do or sharing their views on issues that affect them, they are creating a legacy that will be passed on to others below them. We trust that God multiples and expands the talents and work put into this newspaper and that it is around for years to come.”
