United States 250th Anniversary

 The United States 250th Anniversary also known as the Semiquincentennial will be celebrated this year. This year marks an important and historic event that took place 250 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, highlighting the nation's founding principles of liberty and self-government.

President Donald Trump announced that there will be events in every state for our nation’s birthday, but the main celebration will be in the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.  All the celebrations will have similar types of events including food, merchandise, games and guest speakers.  The main purpose of the event is to celebrate our country’s 250th anniversary.  This event is important and special because it celebrates our independence, freedom and our history. 

Through our 250 years, our country has been through a lot, including wars and inflation.  We should be thankful for our military personnel and all those that serve our country.  I am happy and thankful for our independence.
